Question for Class # 2

So we did some history today, discussed the fact that their were four/six major schools in philosophy during this period: Plato's Academy, Aristotle's Lyceum, Epicurus' Garden, Zeno's Stoa as well as the trends of Cynicism and Skepticism. We ended by talking about the Alcibiades I and some of the information about the authorship of this dialogue and its major themes. For next class I want to know what issue predominates throughout the entirety of this text? Furthermore, who is this guys Socrates? What characterisitics and worldviews does he bring to this dialogue with the young Alcibiades.
See you Friday,
Dr. Layne
